Meet Hannah

Hannah graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the American University in Cairo (AUC) with highest honors. Later, she went on to obtain her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from AUC. While completing her master’s degree, Hannah received training at the Psychological Counseling Services and Training Center at AUC and Al Rakhawy Hospital working with clients in person. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hannah was also trained and gained experience in conducting online therapy sessions while abiding to the highest level of professional and ethical practices.
During her training, she conducted sessions in English and Arabic with emerging adults and adults on a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, adjustment problems, identity exploration, and interpersonal difficulties. Hannah has also delivered a variety of workshops and webinars on topics such as burnout, self-compassion, emotional eating, self-esteem, and procrastination in both English and Arabic.
Hannah utilizes therapeutic techniques that are best suited to the client and their needs. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Person-Centered Therapy. Her approach draws from the Humanistic school where she emphasizes viewing the person as a whole and in context. Hannah believes that providing a safe, non-judgmental, validating, and empathetic environment is essential and plays a central role in the success of therapy. This environment can facilitate exploration and allow connections that enable clients to gain insight, manage difficulties, and become more empowered. Hannah is passionate about developing positive therapeutic relationships with others that enables them to be their authentic selves and to feel accepted and respected.
